As part of a birthday celebration for me, my husband took me for a day on a nearly private beach via Captain Dan aka Bokeelia Water Taxi. Dan is fun and enjoyable and the boat is smooth riding and clean. Most exciting is his ability to entice the dolphins to play and jump in the surf of the boat. Totally awesome and I got some beautiful pictures. Capt Dan was an awesome captain who took us around to Cabbage Key and Caya Costa Key. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife, including a lot of the local birds that he pointed out to us. Dan Ballou is the best! My husband, Darren and I shared a trip to Cabbage Key with my sister in law and brother in law (Joyce and Dan Himebaugh). Being from Michigan and have never visited the area we were amazed at the dolphins who followed us. Dan was full of knowledge about the private islands and even tried to whistle (mock the Egretts) we passed on our little cruise. I laughed so much and loved hearing the stories our Captain Dan had. I felt like a little kid and will forever remember this vacation for as long as I live.
